Growing up in a military family, Vickey developed a love of travel and adventure that led her to become a commercial pilot. She was an airline captain for many years before joining the aviation department of International Paper in 2008, where she flies a Dassault Falcon executive business jet.
Since joining the DAC Board of Directors in 2013, Vickey is especially involved with Events and Marketing Committees, and served as both Vice President and President. Married to college sweetheart Michael McLendon for more than 30 years, they have 2 adult sons, Hunter & Sadler. Vickey serves as a mentor to young women interested in a career in Aviation and is an active volunteer for numerous community projects in Hernando where her husband serves on the Board of Aldermen.

Cindy Gordon
Board Member
Cindy has been a resident of Hernando for more than 30 years. She previously served as the Director of Telecommunications for a Fortune 500 company before becoming Area Manager for Fairway Independent Mortgage. During her tenure, Fairway has been recognized as the Hernando Chamber Business of the Year, Community Star by the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, and DeSoto’s Best for six years.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Cindy serves on the boards of the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, DeSoto Arts Council, Hernando Parks & Recreation Foundation, and the Hernando Veterans Parade.
Cindy and her husband Charlie have two sons, Dr. Charles Marvin Gordon, Jr. and Dr. Andrew Gordon.

Jim Franks
Board Member
Jim is a former President of the DeSoto County Bar Association, and has been a practicing attorney in DeSoto County since 1979. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 1975, and a Doctorate of Law in 1978.
He serves as an attorney for the Police Benevolent Association, and for 6 private psychiatric care hospitals in Mississippi and Tennessee. Jim served as DeSoto County Youth Court Prosecutor for 10 years, and currently serves as Mental Health Facilitator for DeSoto County since 2010.
He is the Immediate Past President of, and attorney for, the Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center, where he has previously served as both President and Vice-President. He is a founding member of the DeSoto County Juvenile Drug Court, Â a Board Member of the DeSoto County Arts Council, and a member of the Historic DeSoto Foundation.
Jim is a former Hernando High School debate coach and is Trustee for, and Clerk of Session of, Hernando First Presbyterian Church, as well as serving on the Board of Trustees of the Presbytery of St. Andrews.
He is the owner of Hernando Commercial Properties, LLC, as well as Hernando Residential Properties, LLC.

Tajuana Williams is new member of the board of directors and the Director of the Mental Health Services division of DeSoto County Schools.

Randy Martin
Board Member
Randy is a graphic designer, web designer, ghost writer, and book designer with six MarCom Awards, two Summit Awards, two Ippy Awards, and one Mom’s Choice Award to his credit. He also has two MarCom awards for web design, and a dozen Emmys as a television producer, director, and writer. He is the owner of martinDESIGN.
Randy serves on the Board of Directors for the DeSoto Arts Council, The Hernando Veterans Parade, and the Friends of the Von Theatre. In his spare time, he sings and plays guitar with Mississippi Greystone.

The Board is comprised of 15 members of the community, each appointed for a 3-year term in a rotation of 5 per year. Members may be reappointed for additional terms. Those interested in serving on the board should contact the Director for an application.
